Scroll down to the bottom for an update on December 9th.
IFBB Fitness Pro Beth Horn is Venom. IFBB Figure Pro Jamie Reed is Fury.
Taping begins: Tuesday, November 27th
First air date (NBC Prime Time): Sunday, January 6th
Commercials began to air on Thanksgiving Day, and you can download the audio by going here.
And the vidcaps from the commercial are below - can you make out any of the Gladiators? We know who they are,
but we're sworn to secrecy. The official announcement via press conference will be on December 12th. Even though
some have jumped the gun and attempted to "out" the participants, we are respecting the wishes of the producers
and the athletes to not have names announced until after the first round of taping. Speculation is rampant that we
may have more than one superstar from Team FigureRX involved, which would be quite a coup for our young
team. All we can say is that this is going to be a lot of fun.
If you think you know who some of the gladiators are can you match them to their performer names? Can you tell which
of the names are for the dudes (the bit players ) and which are for the female athletes? The names released on
the 27th in alphabetical order are Blast, Crush, Fury, Hammer, Helga, Mayhem, Militia, Justice, Titan, Toa, Siren, Stealth, Venom, and
Wolf. Two of these are alternates and will only appear if there is an injury.
Speculation is fine (such as "I think I saw Mike O'Hearn in the commercial or that girl looks like Team FigureRX's
Jamie Reed , or that close up looked like Valerie but I can't be sure because her hair is colored darker )
but any actual announcements are prohibited due to contractual obligations.

I know the management here is sworn to secrecy to Dec 12th but here is an almost official press release
Link Removed
With Tre' at the tapings soon all of the free, and some of the not so free, world should know soon.
Editor's Note: The producers (and some athletes) have asked that there be no official announcements until December 12th. Thanks everyone for your cooperation.

NBC did not sue their hineys to take it down. Official releases obviously can only come from NBC itself.

Doug - there was nothing official about it, it was likely an inappropriate early release of confidential information, from a party who knew about it from the athletes but had no right to make it public. None of the information came from NBC.

Hi Stephen
I agree with your reasons for pulling the link. Thank you for the explanation.

WOW, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAY ABOUT THIS...I GUESS IF YOU AREN'T FOR SURE ABOUT SOMETHING DON'T WRITE IT
UNLESS YOU HAVE SPECIFIC PERMISSION FROM THE ATHLETE!
NOTHING SHOULD REALLY BE MENTIONED ABOUT ANY OF THE GIRLS OR GUYS THAT MADE IT UNTIL EVERYONE REALLY KNOWS ....
THAT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE TO AN OFFICIAL COMMENT.
ANYWAY GOOD LUCK TO THOSE WHO DID MAKE IT )))))

Alright the man himself (Tre' Scott) made the pilgrimage down to the Gladiator Arena and posted a report, and we wholeheartedly
endorse his efforts! Check them out here: LINK
As the class act that he is, he found a way to describe everything in great detail without harming anyone. Great job Tre'.
And all names and identities of all the female gladiators are now up at GladiatorZone:

Mega Team FigureRX Congratulations to "Fury" and "Venom!!"

As I said at MD, the female Gladiators that most impressed me were Fury and Stealth.
It was awesome to see Venus Ramos come from behind and win it.
The Wolf needs to stop howling as thats just embarrassing lol

NFL, Clemens Boost CBS Sunday
'Gladiators' does solid demos, 'Mafia' so-so
Share
Jan. 6, 2008
The NFL playoffs and a "60 Minutes" interview with Roger Clemens led
CBS to a ratings win Sunday, while new shows on ABC and NBC got off to
decent starts.
CBS scored a 9.8 rating/16 share in primetime, with those numbers
subject to change because of live sports bleeding into primetime. ABC
finished second at 7.8/12, followed by NBC, 6.5/10. FOX drew a 3.5/6,
and The CW was barely a blip at 0.6/1.
Among adults 18-49, ABC and CBS tied for the lead with 4.5 ratings, just
beating the 4.4 for NBC. FOX averaged 2.7 and The CW a meager 0.3.
An NFL wild-card game and "60 Minutes" averged 15.2/24 at 7 p.m.,
dominating the hour. "Deal or No Deal" finished a distant second for NBC
with a 5.3/8. "America's Funniest Home Videos" earned a 4.8/8 for ABC,
topping the 2.5/4 for a pair of "American Dad" reruns on FOX. The CW
aired "CW Now" and an "Aliens in America" rerun.
CBS held the lead at 8 p.m. with "60 Minutes," 11.4/17, and "The Amazing
Race," 8.9/13. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" drew a 7.3/11 for ABC,
just beating a second hour of "Deal or No Deal" on NBC. "The Simpsons,"
4.8/7, and "King of the Hill," 4.2/6, kept FOX in fourth. "Life Is Wild"
posted a 0.6/1 for The CW.
ABC moved in front at 9 p.m. with "Desperate Housewives," 12.1/18. CBS
was second in households with "The Amazing Race," 7.2/11, and "Cold
Case," 7.1/10, but the premiere of NBC's "American Gladiators" (6.7/10) had more viewers and better demo numbers. "Family Guy" and
"American Dad" averaged 3.6/5 for FOX. The CW went with an encore of
"Crowned."
At 10 p.m., the debut of "Cashmere Mafia" posted a 7.1/12 for ABC,
leading in households but trailing "American Gladiators," 6.7/11. CBS'
"Shark" also scored a 6.7/11 but came in third in total viewers.
On Saturday, NBC's NFL playoff coverage dominated the night with a
13.0/21. ABC was second at 5.5/9, followed by CBS, 4.0/7, and FOX,
3.5/6.

Moving to NBC, the Peacock net opened with a two-hour installment of the now officially overexposed Deal or No Deal (#3: 6.3/ 9). That led into the two-hour debut of the American Gladiators remake at a 6.8/10 (#3) in the overnights from 9-11 p.m. Although I will save any official judgment call until the fast affiliate ratings arrive, the one piece of potentially promising news for American Gladiators was consistency in each half-hour. Take a look:
American Gladiators (NBC)
9:00 p.m. 6.6/10 (#3)
9:30 p.m. 6.9/10 (#3)
10:00 p.m. 6.7/10 (#3)
10:30 p.m. 6.9/11 (#3)

Huge debut for
'American Gladiators'
NBC reality show averages a 5.9 rating in 18-49s
By Toni Fitzgerald
Jan 7, 2008
For NBC, the writers' strike really is serving as more of a boon than a burden. The network notched its fifth strong night in a row thanks in large part to the debut of the new reality series “American Gladiators.â€
“Gladiators†averaged a 5.9 adults 18-49 rating from 9 to 11 p.m., according to Nielsen overnights, becoming the highest-rated new show on any network this year and generating NBC's best non-sports numbers in the timeslot in more than three years.
“Gladiators,†a remake of the old syndicated series, remained very steady throughout its debut, despite facing ABC's highly anticipated original episode of “Desperate Housewives†at 9 p.m., the second of a two-parter that began last month and the final original of the hit series left.
The NBC show, which moves to its regular timeslot tonight, peaked with a 6.1 during its final half hour at 10:30 after averaging a 5.5 in its first half hour. That helped NBC finish within a tenth of a point of leaders ABC and CBS for the night.
It was the most recent success for NBC, which also saw strong premieres for veteran reality shows “The Biggest Loser†and “Celebrity Apprentice†last week, and aired the season's top-rated show, an AFC playoff game, on Saturday.
As mentioned above, ABC and CBS tied for first for the night among viewers 18-49, each with a 4.5 average overnight rating and an 11 share, with NBC third at 4.4/11, Fox fourth at 2.7/6, Univision fifth at 1.3/3 and CW sixth at 0.3/1.
CBS started the night in the lead with a 7.7 rating at 7 p.m. for the end of its NFL football coverage and the first half hour of “60 Minutes.†ABC was second with a 2.4 for “America's Funniest Home Videos,†NBC third with a 2.2 for “Deal or No Deal,†Fox fourth with a 1.9 for an hour of “American Dad†repeats, Univision fifth with a 1.2 for “Hora Pico†and CW sixth with a 0.2 for “CW Now†and a repeat of “Aliens in America.â€
At 8 p.m. CBS and ABC tied for first at 4.7, CBS for the last half of “60 Minutes†and the first half hour of “The Amazing Race†and ABC for “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.†NBC was third with a 3.7 for another hour of “Deal or No Deal,†Fox fourth with a 3.6 for “The Simpsons†(3.9) and “King of the Hill†(3.3), Univision fifth with a 1.2 for the first of three hours of “5 Magnificos†and CW sixth with a 0.3 for “Life is Wild.â€
ABC took the lead at 9 p.m. with a 7.2 for “Housewives,†followed by NBC with a 5.7 for the first hour of “Gladiators.†CBS was third with a 3.2 for the end of “Race†and the start of “Cold Case,†Fox fourth with a 2.7 for a repeat of “Family Guy†and a new “American Dad†(2.4), Univision fifth with a 1.2 for “Magnificos†and CW sixth with a 0.3 for a repeat of “Crowned.â€
At 10 p.m. NBC took the lead with a 6.0 for the second hour of “Gladiators,†with ABC second with a 3.8 for the series premiere of “Cashmere Mafia.†CBS was third with a 2.3 for the last half of “Case†and the first half of a “Shark†repeat and Univision fourth with a 1.3 for its last hour of “Magnificos.â€
Among households, CBS was first for the night with a 9.8 average overnight rating and a 15 share. ABC was second at 7.8/12, NBC third at 6.5/10, Fox fourth at 3.5/5, Univision fifth at 1.4/2 and CW sixth at 0.6/1.

Top Broadcast Shows Dec 31 - Jan 6, 2008
January 8th, 2008
by Robert Seidman
A satisfying week for Jeff Zucker and the crew at the Peacock network. With success in NFL playoffs, American Gladiator, The Apprentice, the debut of Law & Order and continued success with Law & Order: SVU and Deal or No Deal, NBC snags three out of the top five spots, five out of the top ten and nine out of the top twenty. Led by football post-game, Roger Clemens on 60 Minutes, and a strong outing in reruns by CSI, CBS placed three shows in the top ten and six shows overall. If not for the Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl and Sugar Bowl NCAA festivities, FOX would have been completely shut out of this week's top 20, with the three Bowl games FOX's only representatives on the list. But fear not FOX lovers, American Idol debuts one week from tonight (I know Tony Kornheiser can hardly wait!).
Not a great week for the Mouse, with ABC only landing two shows in the top 20 (both in the top 10). Perhaps the Mouse will take solace in knowing Desperate Housewives was by far and away was the most watched scripted drama of the week. Perhaps not, but at least Extreme Makeover: Home Edition snuck into the top ten anyway. Cashmere Mafia, which technically tied for 19th on a household rating basis, finished 21st in terms of viewers.

Top 18-49 Demo Shows Dec 31-Jan 6, 2008
January 8th, 2008
by Robert Seidman
As with overall viewers, NBC dominated the week. Notable differences between total viewers and this list are that ABC's Supernanny, Cashmere Mafia and the finale of NBC's The Biggest Loser didn't make the overall list, but did rate in the 18-49 demo. Also, while NBC's American Gladiators was a top 20 overall performer (#14), it performed even better in the 18-49 demographic (#6). The season's debut of NBC's The Apprentice also performed better in the demo (#10) than overall (#19).
