Arnold Amateur NPC Figure Invitation List

Please note that all of these competitor lists are now based on the *new* height classes. Everyone will be measured and moved to the new height classes on site, and our staff has worked to adjust the event previews and competitor lists accordingly. Not everyone has been moved, when in doubt we have left the athlete under the old height classes that existed on the application and prior to this year.

The new height classes helped somewhat. For example, eleven competitors moved from Class A to Class B, but at least four athletes moved from B to C, leaving B almost even with 16 competitors.

An explanation concerning the new adjusted height classes can be found here. We are now using the new height classes in our Arnold Amateur event preview thread (LINK).

I was thinking the exact same thing....doesn't look like the height changes helped at all....still stacked classes in A and F! This show be giving out PRO Cards soon.

By the way... is this a National Qualifier? :?
Is the new height change only for National level shows? I think it's needed throughout!!!

Hi Debra, yes the Amateur is a national qualifier. The height changes are for *any* shows that have six height classes - so if there are any non qualifiers with six classes it would be the same for them as well. I am not sure yet how they will handle the Emerald Cup, which at some points in the past had eight height classes.

More info on the national level shows: viewtopic.php?t=144

And more info on the 2008 rule changes:

Ahhh... Thanks for clearing that up. Well, if this show is any indication of things to come, it looks like the new height changes didn't make a huge difference in the A and F class!!!

Good luck to Dolores Burlingame, D class... welcome back to the stage! :D

Please note that all of these competitor lists appear to be based on the old height classes. We are working to determine if there will be any additional adjustment.

Hi guys just wanted to clarify this ... because everyone who was accepted to the Amateur already had to be top five at a national qualifying event, all the competitors who made it should already be nationally qualfied. Therefore this event is not officially a national qualifier. It was listed as NQ at one point but once they saw the quality of the applicants and set the criteria it was no longer necessary - so this is more like a national show, but without a pro card.

There are several competitors who have been top five, but not top three, at a national qualifying event. So the qualification criteria is top five, not top three.

Is the new height change only for National level shows? I think it's needed throughout!!!

What a great site!!! I recognize many of the competitors from past shows. This will be an incredible show. I wish I could be in the mix. One of the competitors that sticks out is Jennifer Jackson. I competed with her at last year's Europa. She placed 6th and my husband and I were in disbelief.
Good luck to all,
Katrina Robinson Grossnickle
