Question: Will FigureRX ever have a print version of its online magazine?

We have thought about this on occasion, but up until now we have voted against it. The main reason is that our bread and butter is contest previews and coverage, and print magazine lead times are too far in advance to release that info in a timely manner. By the time the issue came out nobody would care. Most of the large magazines talk a lot more about training and nutrition geared toward a mainstream audience, whereas our "how to" information would be much more likely to focus on contest preparations and considerably more "hard core" diet and training tactics for figure, fitness, and women's bodybuilding. Our focus is competition and incredible physique excellence, rather than just striving to be "fit." Given these goals, we believe that we can be a lot more effective and timely with an internet delivery model.

If we do a print magazine, other than published items like the Figure Media Guide, it would probably be a lot like WPW used to be with athlete features, industry happenings, and large features.

Question: Where are you and why are you not getting back to me?

The parent of FigureRX is an investment bank, and the auction rate securities and bond insurance markets are, in many ways, collapsing and becoming illiquid. This is not a financial disaster (except for the insurers), but it has resulted in thousands of nervous companies, governments, and municipalities. We have found it necessary to get in front of as many securities issuers as possible to calm the markets and provide opportunities to convert to other types of bonds, including variable rate weeklies and long term fixed rate securities.

This is not a bad thing, it just means we are busy beyond belief!! And at the wrong time too, just before the Arnold!!
