Thanks Bree!
That is actually the first fitness routine I've ever performed, so I haven't really developed a style yet. I was never a hip-hop dancer, and as a gymnast, I always used more dramatic music. So i know what I move well to, and also what I do NOT move well to, so I kept that in mind when choosing music and developing the routine. The routine always got a great crowd reaction, probably because it was different.
As for the props, I suppose if you have a "themed" routine, then appropriate props would be a great addition. I decided not to have a theme, so for me, props didn't reallyseem necessary. But I wouldn't necessarily rule them out for the future. I think you just have to be creative with making sure the prop really enhances (and does not deter from) the routine.
I am in the process of putting together music for my 2008 routine/s, but Im keeping it a secret until I compete...so everyone will just have to wait and see
