It seems like most everything went according to formula with a couple of major surprises, including the return of Monica Brant-Peckham from retirement. That's really great for the sport and the event, does she have a shot at the jacket?
Also, Amanda Savell will definitely be missed at the Arnold, she is one of the top figure competitors in the sport today. Every indication is that she was making preparations to come in at her best ever and we had her pegged as our preliminary favorite. In Amanda's own words, from early December: "Hello to all my fans and friends! I am getting ready to start my prep for the 2008 Arnold Classic! With my prep ramping up I am going to focus all my energy on winning the Arnold, getting my leather jacket =) and accomplishing my goal of winning the most exciting show in the industry. Please keep tuned to my updates and my new information coming and I will do my best to get back to you! Love you all!!! Amanda Jo." We wish Amanda all the best during what must be a difficult time, and we are certain she will bounce back soon.
