Magazine Feature - Mainstream Figure Potential

FigureRX Online Magazine - Volume 4
March 24, 2008

We will be beginning a new feature in the next issue of FigureRX magazine, on the top ten individuals in popular culture who we admire and who we'd like to see compete in figure. Esquire Magazine has their "Women Who We Love" articles -- this is our "Women Who We'd Love to See on Stage." Of course we'll be selecting people based on all the FigureRX criteria, which recognizes potential as well as athletic ability .... work ethic ... superhero status .... even if that X-shape is hidden we'll find it!!

If you have any nominations please post them below .... but remember think figure. For example, Jessica Biel is a common physique choice but she might actually have better bodybuilding potential. To see the full article on each of our selections just click on the name. At the end we will have a vote for everyone's favorite.

Selections:
Shannon Elizabeth
Michelle McCool
Missy Peregrym

Nominees - yes or no?
Brittany Daniels
Ali Larter

We'd Love to See Her on Stage - Number One
Michelle McCool

FigureRX Online Magazine - Volume 4

-----------Image

WWE Diva Michelle McCool is the first person selected that we'd like to see on the figure stage. Sure it's a little bit selfish, and very unlikely, but imagine all of the adoring fans who would get their first exposure to NPC figure if Michelle stepped up in her heels and shiny two piece. We have to think that once those fans saw all the amazing, well rounded athletes up there competing with her they'd add national figure to their repertoire ... and if we had to add a little combat to entice them we could always have smug emcee Bob Cicherillo body slammed and smacked over the head with twenty pairs of hooker heels. Heck, we know a few people who would volunteer to take the first whack!! (just kidding, we love you Bob)

So here are the reasons why we selected Michelle, and why we think she embodies modern day figure ideals. We recommend listening to her WWE theme song as you read this (LINK). The lyrics can be found here.

(1) Physique and Height. It's not easy to show noticeable muscle on a 5'10" frame, but Michelle is able to do it. She has delts, biceps, abdominals - and a really killer back. Depending on that day's judging criteria, she could probably step up now and place top five in a national level contest.

(2) She's a Real Athlete. Wrestling may not all be real, but that doesn't make it easy. Michelle's signature finishing move requires her to hold opponents in an upside down bear hug and then to execute a pile driver (see photo below). At Palatka High School in Florida (east of Gainesville) she excelled at basketball, softball and volleyball, and before she became a wrestler she competed in fitness and was a private gymnastics trainer. She also was a standout softball player at Florida State. Michelle is the real deal.

(3) Attitude and Determination. We think figure comes with that personal determination and attitude that lets athletes thrive in the gym and in the kitchen - there's no fluff around here. We always say that figure is bodybuilding with slightly different physique objectives, and nothing less -- we think Michelle would bring that attitude to everything that she does. The stage persona can't all be acting, a lot of it must come from within.

(4) She's a Smartie Pants. Before Michelle was discovered during Diva search in 2004, she was a seventh grade science teacher, and she continued to teach while wrestling. Heck, we're not even sure that we remember much from middle school science class. McCool also has a master's degree.

(5) Down to Earth Isn't an Act. We're always amazed with how down to earth and approachable the stars of the figure world can be .... they are tremendously approachable and they care about their fans. Michelle is the same way ... this small town girl has not forgotten her roots.

So that's our case for Michelle McCool as potential modern day figure star. In the mean time you can catch her as she dominates WWE Diva Smackdown which wraps up in about a week. In the latest installment she won the armwrestling challenge. The full video is available (LINK). The vidcaps below also show her during Smackdown on Friday, March 21st.

You can also find her in multiple Titantrons on YouTube - we like this one: LINK

Maybe. Not sure. You say potential, so 2 years of weight training may do wonders for these two. Both are very attractive women though.
