Post subject:  Jamie Costa - NPC Tournament of Champions
One of FigureRX's "2008 impact athletes" selected for the amateur figure media guide competed at the NPC Tournament of Champions this past weekend. We knew that Jamie Costa was a future star after seeing her on stage at the USA's a couple of months ago, and we listed her as one of the "most overlooked" competitors who needed a little more time in front of the judges.

Well she showed everyone that she is ready for 2008 by winning Figure Class A and sweeping the overall title at this competitive show! In the two months between shows she refined her look - better tan, improved hair style, conditioning - Wow. Jamie has incredible overall symmetry and particularly stand-out quads, abs and delts. She maintains her rookie status for 2008 because she did only one national level show in 2007, and we can't wait to see her back on the national scene next year!!

Post subject:  Dixie Reynolds at the NPC Palm Beach and Florida State
Dixie Reynolds is the first athlete to be selected as a state and local contest spotlight competitor for a second time. After seeing Dixie's showing at the NPC Palm Beach we knew that we had to select her again. This girl has been tearing up the Florida circuit all year, with class wins at the NPC Southeastern Golds Classic, the NPC Southern USA, and the NPC Northwest Florida Figure. She is an athlete on the rise and we know she will do well at the national level if she chooses to do so in 2008!!

Post subject:  Deanna Rabosky at the NPC Northeastern Tourn of Champs
First time competitor Deanna Rabosky is our spotlight athlete for the 2007 NPC Northeastern Tournament of Champions, held in Derry, New Hampshire on October 13, 2007. The show was another excellent production put on by Dave Follansbee and IFBB Pro and expert suit maker Maggie Blanchard.

Deanna received some expert guidance from one of our favorite 2008 NPC national figure impact athletes Amanda Quinlan, who knows a lot about impressive debuts and meteoric rises to the top! Deanna came in extremely polished and well conditioned - it definitely did not look like her first time. We see a lot of potential in her and look forward to her next trip to the stage.

Post subject:  NPC Border States Classic Figure Spotlight Athletes
Team FigureRX has selected two spotlight athletes from the NPC Border States Classic Figure Championships held on October 20th in Anaheim, California.

Susan Salazar has had an incredible 2007 on the local California NPC circuit, winning the overall figure title at the Pacific USA Figure Championships and her height class at the All Forces Figure Championships and the Border States. From a muscle and symmetry standpoint Susan has it all, with a particularly stand-out chest, upper back, delts and calves. She needs to lean out a little more to compete at the top at the national level, but she showed what she can do at the Pacific States where she was definitely tighter and more conditioned (photo on the left). The other two pictures are from the Border States.

Our second spotlight athlete is Holly Humphreys, who placed second in Figure Class D at the Border States. Holly came in lean and etched and she has the genetics to succeed nationally. We'd like to see her add a little more size to her arms and quads but her back, delts and calves are already competitive. We'll be watching for Holly's next steps!

Post subject:  Heather Green at the NPC Atlantic USA Figure
Okay we know that this isn't really fair, but our spotlight athlete for the NPC Atlantic USA Bodybuilding & Figure Championships held in Duluth, Georgia on March 16, 2007 is megastar Heather Green.

Heather's rise this year has been so meteoric (pro card at Nationals, Olympia qualification, top five at Palm Beach, and a chance for an Arnold invite) that it's easy to forget that the whole season started by winning the overall at a state level NPC show in Georgia. And it was a pretty impressive show, featuring other top national athletes like Tracy Barlow, Becky Beydler, and Melissa Griffin (the latter has also won her pro card).
