Welcome to
FigureRX's coverage of the IFBB Sacramento Pro Figure Grand Prix!! Our goal as we branch out to IFBB professional and NPC local coverage is to make
FigureRX the place where athletes, family members, friends and fans go to first for the most complete, reliable and athlete-friendly coverage of the sport of figure. This is the second to last IFBB show of the year and then off to re-tool and to get ready for 2008, when we will also be sponsoring shows!
Thanks to Salvador from our Los Angeles office who is covering his first show - way to go!! Check back on Sunday for the one piece and two piece scores.

FigureRX spotlight athlete Darlina Brown has qualified for the 2008 Figure Olympia!!
The coverage below was written in the afternoon after the pre-judging. Look for our full contest report later this week!
FigureRX most overlooked athletes are
Kristi Tauti and
Rosa-Maria Romero.

Take a look at the great delts and arms of
Michelle Mayberry and the excellent legs of
Waleska Valle.

Here are the two piece call-outs from the pre-judging.
First call-out:
Darlina Brown
MaryJo Cooke
Andrea Dumon
Michelle Flake
Sherie Salvadori
Waleska Valle
The order in the photo above is Dumon, Brown, Cooke, Flake, Salvadori, and Valle. Of this group
MaryJo Cooke with her new darker hair look stands out in the middle with her delt development - she has just been improving all year and we would give her the win.
Darlina Brown has really made a statement here, her quad improvements are noticeable and she's showing everyone that the shows in Texas earlier this year were just a warm-up.
Andrea Dumon is a champion and we would be surprised if she did not get top three, she brings a little different type of physique relative to this lineup but that is the nature of pro shows with no height classes. Finally it is exciting to see
Waleska Valle in the first call-out, she has a lot of muscle with great lines and symmetry.
Second call-out:
Huong Arcinas
Heather Mae French
April Fortier
Michelle Mayberry
Rosa-Maria Romero
Photo above in order is Romero, French, Arcinas, Fortier and Mayberry.
Rosa-Maria Romera looks phenomenal it's a question of how much muscle they will allow. There are a ton of insiders at this show many of whom have very different opinions on the direction of the sport.
Huong Arcinas's legs stand out as always and
Michelle Mayberry has the total package.
April Fortier's legs are a little smooth and we'd like to see a bit more of a V-taper from her, if you look at April next to Michelle the latter has the delt caps and a tighter waist and a more symmetrical overall physique.
Third call-out:
Celeste Gonzalez
Petra Mertl
Kristi Tauti
The order in the photo above is Gonzalez, Mertl and Tauti.
Kristi Tauti looks beautiful we would have called her out with an earlier group. We love
Celeste Gonzalez but the lighting and the stage angle toward the judges probably did not help her here, it gives her a bit of a straight up and down look.
Fourth call-out:
Aleksandra Kobielak
Kirsten Nicewarner
Chrissy Garcia
Maiken Emborg
The order in the photo above is Garcia, Emborg, Kobielak, and Nicewarner.

The call-outs at the one piece pre-judging earlier went like this:
First call-out:
Darlina Brown
MaryJo Cooke-Elliott
Andrea Dumon
Michelle Flake
Sherie Salvadori
The order in the photo above is Salvadori, Brown, Flake, Cooke, and Dumon. Sherie is a surprise last minute addition to the lineup and she looks great.
FigureRX spotlight athlete
Darlina Brown takes a major step forward with a first call-out in the one piece round.
Second call-out:
Huong Arcinas
April Fortier
Heather Mae French
Michelle Mayberry
Waleska Valle
The order in the photo above is Fortier, Arcinas, Valle, French and Mayberry.
Michelle Mayberry looks incredible in this group, she's filled out nicely and we would have called her out earlier. We love
Huong Arcinas in her debut, she is the type of athlete who can really benefit and expand the sport. Any debut is always difficult but Huong really deserves this high call-out, even though her legs are not quite and conditioned and separated as we have been used to seeing from her on the amateur stage.
Third call-out:
Celeste Gonzalez
Petra Mertl
Rosa-Maria Romero
Kristi Tauti
The order in the above photo is Gonzalez, Mertl, Romero, and Tauti. This is as strong a third group that we have seen at a pro show this year.
Fourth call-out:
Maiken Emborg
Chrissy Garcia
Aleksandra Kobielak
Kirsten Nicewarner
The order in the photo above is Garcia, Emborg, Kobielak, and Nicewarner.
Fifth call-out:
Darlina Brown
MaryJo Cooke
Andrea Dumon
Michelle Flake
Sherie Salvadori
If this re-call out represents the true direction of the judging then we are due for some surprises this evening!! Since they called out the same group we've shown a back view this time. The order in this photo is Dumon, Brown, Flake, Cooke, and Salvadori. The back shot is where
MaryJo Cooke and
Darlina Brown especially stand out, while
Michelle Flake needs to bring her lats out more to stand with this group. She may be the winner at this show based on her positioning in the call-outs, but if you look at the photo she is missing a lat flare-out component to her V-shape. We will discuss this more in our full contest report.
