Hey Ladies, I'm the first to admit the road to success can be tedious at times. I decided to start a post on some of the things that keep my goals in sight and spirits up as I prepare for contest season. I think sometimes people forget what it feels like to be passionate about the training and dieting because it becomes so routine. Here's a chance to share some of the things that keep you inspired and remind you (and hopefully others!) of why you love the sport. Feel free to contribute tips, stories, quotes, pics, or talk about someone who inspires you and why.

"Pain is weakness leaving the body." Anonymous

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." Martin Luther King, Jr., Nobel Laureate

Hey Ali GREAT thread! Unfortunately I look to be like AGES behind in seeing it haha... sorry I don't get into these forums half as much as I should :( Bad Alli.

Anyhow I thought I'd pitch in some quotes that motivate me:

"Remember a champion is never satisfied. There's always room for improvement. The day you believe there isn't, is the day you need to leave the sport. I train hard every time I set foot in the gym. I work hard and never stop working. I have to. Because somewhere, some girl, is training harder then me..." - Jenny Lynn!!!!

"Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality
It is the words that speak boldly of your intentions
and the actions which speak louder than the words
It is making the time when there is none
Coming through time after time after time
year after year
Commitment is the stuff character is made of
The power to change the face of things
It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism"

Thanks!! I steal quite a few of mine from the "Animal" site. MAchine writes for them (a bodybuilder) and I absolutely love his high intensity focus approach to his training. He talks about getting in the gym and training hard and not allowing the outside world to have an effect. I REALLY can relate. Here's some more of those that I like:

"There is only action, or lack of action."

"I say be not the meek. Do not endure great suffering in patient silence. To effect change in any place, at any time, one need only stand up and occupy a space. That is what I do every day of my life. Forces seek to deflect me, or constrict my physical presence by blocking my path or attempting to push me out of my space. I am the meek and, believe me, I will not suffer in patient silence. I will not be deflected, dismissed, constricted, or blocked. I'm gonna take up space. I'm gonna push and shove. I'm gonna dig and scrape and claw. I'm gonna scream bloody murder because that's all know. I'm gonna kick and fight. I'm gonna stab and bite...until my presence is felt. Until my space is occupied..."

"There are two kinds of people in the world, the Ninety Nines, and the Ones. The Ninety-Nines... That's what I call ‘em. Ninety-nine out of a hundred people can't fathom what I do. They scratch their heads, can't believe my dedication to this great sport. Many don't even think this IS a sport or that I have a life. Never let others define your ‘life' for you. This is what I have chosen. This is the road I've taken, with all the potholes, bumps, and turns. The Ninety-Nines, they can't commit 100% to being their best, to step up one day and stand tall among the giants.”

"Bodybuilding is a line drawn in the sand--it slaps you in the face, dares you. At 14, when I discovered those weights in the basement, I knew I crossed that line, knew there would be no turning back... Ever. I was taken in for life.”

"You can question my motivations, sh*t, you can even question my sanity- but you'll never question my commitment. Because if I'm in, than I'm in to win, in for life, 110% until they bury me huge and ponder the legacy of a great man." -animal pak

"Do what it is you feel you were put on Earth to do and f*** everything else. Our time here is short, so don't waste a second of it being anything less than your best, anybody other than yourself. Do “you" until the f***in' wheels come off..." Animal Pak

"heavy weight ain't nuttin' but a peanut" Ronnie LOL
