Hollywood Yates (American Gladiator "Wolf") and Beth Horn ("Venom") have important roles in the movie "Fancypants," which will be released in 2009.

Hollywood Yates, otherwise known as "Wolf" on the NBC reincarnation of American Gladiators, and Beth Horn ("Venom") are starring in a comedy about professional wrestling.  Yates plays the role of wrestler "The Darkness" while Horn will be starring as "Animal Babe."

Other notables in the film include wrestler Roddy Piper, comedian Richard Kind, and emmy-nomnated actor Nicholas Turturro.

Fancypants is the story of a professional wrestler who has a tough persona on stage but who is afraid of conflict in real life.  Filming was completed at the end of June in the Los Angeles area and the movie, currently in production, is slated for a 2009 nationwide release.

Wrestling movies have had mixed success in recent years.  Hulk Hogan's films, such as Santa with Muscles and Mr. Nanny, were met with derision by critics.  Ready to Rumble, starring David Arquette, Scott Caan and Oliver Platt, was a modest critical success but a box office bomb, garnering a little over $12 million in the U.S. when it was released in 2000.
