Branch Warren has determined that he will not be competing at the Mr. Olympia next month because of a tricep injury suffered in his home, and he is having minor surgery to repair his arm this week.  He now joins Kai Greene and Victor Martinez, two major stars that have previously announced that they will not compete.

The 33-year old Warren, a gym owner in Keller who stands 5'7" and weighs approximately 240 lbs on stage, plans to continue training and expects to be ready for the 2009 Arnold Classic in March.  His nickname is Quadrasaurus and he oftens wins the "most muscular" award at professional shows.

Warren also missed the 2007 Olympia, and he last placed 12th in the 2006 event.  Since then he has solidified his status as a top professional, winning the 2007 New York Pro and placing 4th at the 2008 Arnold Classic.

Branch was briefly tied to the David Jacobs steroid scandal, because he and Jacobs used to be friend and training partners.  He was never implicated for any wrongdoing, however.

His wife Trish Mayberry-Warren is one of the biggest stars on the IFBB professional fitness circuit.  After a layoff, Trish returned to the stage this year and placed second at the IFBB New York Pro Fitness Championships, qualifying for the 2008 Fitness Olympia.

The Olympia will be held from September 25-28th in Las Vegas, where Jay Cutler is favored to repeat as champion.  For information on the women's side of the competition please visit FigureRX - Everything Figure and Fitness.
