Bodybuilding Weekly: NPC Vice Chairman Steve Stone Passes Away at Olympia NPC Vice Chairman Steve Stone Passes Away at Olympia ================================================================================ Hardbodies News on 27 September, 2008 11:37:00 September 26, 2008 Special for Bodybuilding Weekly Steve Stone, one of the popular stage expeditors who worked at all of the national level shows, passed away of an apparent heart attack in Las Vegas this evening. The incident occurred at approximately 5:30pm pacific time. Steve, 51 years old, a former competitive bodybuilder and current NPC vice chairman of bodybuilding under Steve Weinberger in New York, was also the occasional training partner of WWE founder Vince McMahon. As a bodybuilder, he won the light heavyweight division at the 1990 North American Championships. Mr. Stone was most recently well known as the co-stage expeditor with IFBB Fitness Pro Kim Scheideler at all of the major national level NPC shows. Along with Ms. Scheideler, he was the co-promoter of the NPC Empire State Classic held each year in Staten Island, New York. Steve's wife, Andrea, is an IFBB and NPC statistician. He will be greatly missed. Update 9/28: The official cause of death is pulmonary embolism. Memorial services will be held in Pearl River, New York at 10am on Thursday, October 2nd.
