A major effort is underway to possibly add an IFBB professional fitness division to the KentuckyMuscle Pro, which will be held in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, November 8th. Competitor participation in the pro fitness ranks has been increasing this year and a show of this type is highly likely to be profitable.
An additional fitness show would also give athletes who do not place in the top six at the 2008 Fitness Olympia an additional opportunity to qualify for the 2009 Olympia late in the fall, something that is missing this year with the cancellation of the Palm Beach Pro show in October. The All Star Pro Fitness show in Arkansas was also taken off the competition calendar in the summer because of lack of sponsor interest.
Adding an IFBB figure or fitness division to an existing show generally costs $10,000, including $6,000 in prize money and much of the rest in federation sanction fees. If you or your company have an interest in sponsoring the KentuckyMuscle Pro Fitness show, please contact IFBB Fitness Pro Julie Lohre at julie@julielohre.com. Julie was a guest poser at last year's event and she and her husband Rick have been instrumental to the growth of the sport in Kentucky and Southern Ohio.
The NPC KentuckyMuscle show added professional figure for the first time last year, and it ended up being one of the largest pro figure competitions of the year. Please visit the KentuckyMuscle Pro Main Coverage Page for more information.
