A little thing I like to call the trainer RANT, from the "Queen" Brenda Smith.

Over the past years I have helped several people get ready for shows, helped other trainers dial in clients, taught them to pose, helped them with suits, painted their tan on them, and have even had clients train with me and then go and try to write a book with the information I give them to compete, just recently had a former client go to MY seamstress and tell her I TOLD her she could take over my suit company, not naming names ... (oh Margue Bull!) ... I just find it odd that some clients will follow you to the ends of the earth and others who come to you clueless and you turn yourself inside out for them and they betray you.

Now as a trainer you hope nothing but success for your clients, and I had this discussion with another trainer who trains figure and bodybuilding clients ... the ones who can afford a trainer, would never make it to stage and many times should not, you over extend yourself ... comp them sessions, give them suits, write their diets and teach them to pose ... and then all of a sudden you wake up with the claw marks and stab holes in your back.  I don't get it....except for it is in their minds the value applied to which they have paid ... less then.

But then ... you have people who walk in your life and it's like they are so gracious for even the smallest assistance, they are so appreciative that you are on fire to help them.  You are so glad that they asked for your help and you just can't wait to see them get on stage and be successful.  These are the ones that offer to pay for your time, pay for your abilities and know that what you offer is a business, not just random information that accidentally makes it all make sense and come together at showtime.

I am working with a client getting ready for a show, and I tell you she's a genetic freak I am proud to say.  She has been like a warrior, stuck to her path, listening as if I am telling her the gospel.  Walk talk eat and train as I have told her ... but then that's what a good athlete will do. She looks fabulous!  I will of course submit some pics of her, and do a story of her much deserved success.

I guess what I am saying is when someone comes up and asks a trainer questions and digs for information it's kinda like them coming to your job and asking you for your time, service or product for free ... a little here and there and it's okay, but remember what we do as private trainers is a service, it is our business and when our bills come due it's how we pay them just like you pay your bills with your jobs!
