2008 Natural Northern Michigan Championships and the Peggy Sue Barber Fitness and Figure

This contest at the Saginaw Valley State University Performing Arts Center is located in the Flint and the Tri-Cities, along with Bay City and Midland, region of Michigan. Peggy Sue Barber is a IFBB Fitness Professional Competitor. This year the final Open Division Bodybuilding Champions were Laurie Scott and Kevin Vaughn, while the overall Open Figure Champion was Allison Hogan. Alisha Gledhill was the sole Fitness Champion for 2008.

The 2008 Natural Northern Michigan Bodybuilding Championships and the Peggy Sue Barber Fitness and Figure Classic were held at the Saginaw Valley State University Performing Arts Center on Saturday, September 27. This year the final Open Division Bodybuilding Champions were Laurie Scott and Kevin Vaughn, while the overall Open Figure Champion was Allison Hogan. Alisha Gledhill was the sole Fitness Champion for 2008.

The contest at the Saginaw Valley State University Performing Arts Center is located  in the Flint and the Tri-Cities, along with Bay City and Midland, region of Michigan.  Saginaw lies on the Saginaw River, 15 miles inland from the Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron. Historically, ships were able to move all along the length of the river inside the city. Saginaw was the site of numerous sawmills and served as a port for Great Lakes vessels. Today, this location is an opportunity for competitors and spectators from the upper area of Michigan to reach a contest without emptying their gas tank.

Peggy Sue Barber is a professor of health and wellness at Delta College, where she is also the lifelong wellness discipline coordinator. Peggy is on the staff of the Old Town Gym in Bay City. She has served as the state director of Michigan’s National Strength and Conditioning Association. Certified by the American College of Sports Medicine, Peggy Sue Barber is a IFBB Fitness Professional Competitor.
