Joe Leahy began competing in the National Physique Committee in 2001 at the Novice Michigan Bodybuilding Championships and has never looked back since that first fifth place trophy. By 2008 Joe has won a total of four overall N.P.C titles including the Capital City in 2005 and 2006, The Big Dust Classic in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2006, and The Grand Rapids in 2008. Joe also took home the Most Muscular Award at the Grand Rapids in 2008. In 2007 Joe won the light-heavy weight class at the Jr. Michigan qualifying him as a National Competitor.

Joe Leahy

Joe Leahy began competing in the National Physique Committee in 2001 at the Novice Michigan Bodybuilding Championships and has never looked back since that first fifth place trophy.  By 2008 Joe has won a total of four overall N.P.C titles including the Capital City in 2005 and 2006, The Big Dust Classic in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2006, and The Grand Rapids in 2008.  Joe also took home the Most Muscular Award at the Grand Rapids in 2008.  In 2007 Joe won the light-heavy weight class at the Jr. Michigan qualifying him as a National Competitor.  An unexpected battle with food poisoning the morning of the Mr. Michigan in 2008 spoiled his plans to due battle with the states best.

     Joe will be planning to compete in the 2009 Mr. Michigan and attempt to take home the title he has always wanted and strived for.  Joe trains six days a week at the Howell Fitness Center and loves all the free weight basics.  Posedown Magazine out of Texas will feature an article on Joe and his accomplishments in an up coming issue.  You can check out www.posedownmag.com for subscription information.  Posedown Magazine is an International Magazine with may subscribers in France etc...
     Joe Leahy has been with the Michigan Department of Corrections for eleven years and has been a member of the states Emergency Response Team and is also a former member of the M.D.O.C's Honor Guard.  Joe has also had the opportunity to work out of the Michigan State Police Post in Lansing as a Field Training Officer for the M.D.O.C training new Officer Recruits how to work and function as an Officer in the states prisons. 
     The N.P.C is where Joe finds a major challenge but also finds huge rewards.  Bodybuilding is a way for life for Joe and always will be on or off the stage.  Joe has many friends in bodybuilding which he wishes luck such as his wife Tina Leahy, best friend and 2006 Natural Northern Michigan Overall Champion Jake Brannan, Jermichael Pratt, Big Joe Romine, Erskin Presley, La Dawn McDay, Chris Bohn, Nadine Bye, Kevin Vaughn, Kile Brannan, Jay Pappas, and the list goes on and on...  Check Joe out at www.ironjoeleahy.com.
